At age 25, David Ayers, a newly ordained minister arrives at his first church assignment in a rural farm town in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. It's the summer of 1977, and he meets young Jackson Harris moments after arriving. Neither of them have any idea about the journey they are about to embark on together that will change their lives radically as they fall in love and help each other heal. This coming of age story takes place in the first months of their relationship as they embark on the process of discovering their true selves together.

The school year unfolds and as David and Jackson's love develops, David becomes closer to Jackson's brother Gary and his friend Will. This story takes us from early in Jackson's Senior High School year to his graduation. There are many bumps along the way for all of them, as well as moments of joy and discovery. As David processes the changes in his life and beliefs, he comes to a deeper understanding of Mythology and Religion, which lead to some startling realizations about his life and relationships. As high school graduation nears, the question new life directions loom for all.

Life is precious and precarious, and relationship can be as well. Jackson is forced to grow up after David is injured, and the complexities and tragedies of life impact them and some of their friends as well. They leave the rural farm town for college in the city, pursue new directions, and along with the new opportunities come new challenges. As they mature into adulthood they continue to sort out the questions of their own identities and the impacts that quest of discovery will have on their relationship together and with their circle of friends and family.
Flamer Skater is a stand-alone story set over a decade after the events chronicled in the Revelation & Redemption series. It takes place in a more open and tolerant society, but one still characterized by challenges for gay people. While centered on skate boarding, it introduces two new teenage characters into the lives of David, Jackson, Will and Sam.

It's 1997, the summer after Flamer Skater takes place. Two new main characters appear on the scene and enter the lives of David and Jackson. One is a troubled sixteen-year old from Philadelphia, David's family home town. The other is from Portland, but only four years old. Reading the Revelation & Redemption stories and Flamer Skater isn't required, but would provide familiarity with the main characters and the back story.

Jerrod returns to Portland to live with David and Jackson and complete his senior year of high school. He has learned a lot about himself over the summer, and there has even been a breakthrough in his relationship with his parents. On top of that, his budding relationship with Roger has much hope and promise. Where does it go as school begins?

Jerrod and Roger begin their dog therapy work seeing real patients, as they begin winter quarter of their senior year. To their surprise and pleasure they become friends with a few of these patients. Life is full of challenges, including homophobic bullies, but both boys become part of Kaiser's amazing way of reaching people and bringing them together.
