Chapter 4

The water rushed into my mouth, nose and eyes as soon as I made contact causing me to lose any sense of bearings and equilibrium until crashing on the bottom of the pool with my stump immediately sending shards of pain into my body. Then my right heel hit the bottom and went out from underneath me just as quickly. But this gave me a point of reference so I flipped myself over and was just getting ready to push myself off when a pair of strong arms grabbed me under the arm pits and pulled upwards towards the surface.

Arriving at the surface, I sputtered and choked out a mouth and nose full of water and then looked around. It was Peter who was holding me up safely but at the same time he had this terrible ashen look on his face as if he were ready to pass out from his own fright and pain. He was also crying racking sobs of disbelief. His disbelief was written all over his face.

"Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm sorry dude, are you okay? David SPEAK to me, please!" He pleaded.

"Peter. I'm okay. It's okay now. What's the matter? What's wrong with you? You are worrying me." I exclaimed quickly turning around to face him immediately pulling him into an embrace.

"Okay. Come on. I'll help you over to the edge." Peter said brokenly.

Together he walked, with me leaning into his side, to the edge of the pool where the steps leading out were located. Ascending those concrete stepping stones, we then got out and stood there holding on to each other.

"David, I am so sorry. Please forgive me." He whispered into my ear while still crying.

"I fell. You did not push me. No damage done. " I said looking deeply into his eyes and then added after seeing the pain in his eyes I felt to not be all physical discomfort "Peter. Are you okay? You are worrying me, bud."

"I'm okay."

"Liar!" I said, with a little more force than I meant.

"What the fuck dude? I'm fine GODDAMNIT!" He screeched out in his cracking adolescent voice.

"Chill, Peter. I know you are scared, and so was I there for a little bit. But you saved me, you very possibly may have saved my life. Thank you so much."

"It was just autopilot, David. I had no fucking idea what I was doing. If you want to talk, then talk but do not expect me to tell you much if anything about me. I'm not important and do not want to bother you with my trivial shit. So talk away." Peter said while wiping the water out of his eyes as he looked into mine which touched my soul.

"Whatever. There is something wrong and I am very worried about you. I probably saw more the other day and today, too, than you wanted me to see. I know something is not right. Something is very, very wrong and I am right here for you, and with you." I said softly.

"I'd rather not talk about it. Please."

"Okay. But promise me something?"

He just looked at me and them nodded slightly though not saying a word.

"Come on. Let's sit down. Our holding each other together is hurting you, and I do not want to hurt you ... anymore than you already are."

I sat in the chaise lounge and then motioned him to sit with me. I pointed to my chair, "Here, sit with me, please."

Slowly, he sat down, scooted close enough so that our shoulders, elbows, hips and calves were touching and then looked into my eyes with his sad and frightened ones.

"Peter. Just trust me for a minute, okay? Can you do that? I need to look at your body from the waist up... I'll be gentle."

Almost imperceptibly he nodded affirmatively. Tears once again sprang from his eyes, trailed down his cheeks and onto his thighs.

Slowly, very slowly I moved interlaced my fingers into the hem of his wet t-shirt and lifted it up slightly. He flinched. "Just trust me. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise."

Reluctantly, he nodded and then said "No, David, please don't, it's okay, really it is. I really did fall down, honest to God I did." When he made no effort to remove my hands, he looked me directly into my eyes, into my soul and nodded once again slowly.

I reached in and kissed him lightly on the lips, "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm your friend here, just trust me."

With my eyes never leaving his, I gently lifted his shirt up to the level of his nipples. He sat up straight and then helped me to lift it up and over his head.

When I saw his neck, shoulders and upper back and chest, I involuntarily shudders and drew in a deep breath and then held it in shock.

Instinctively, I tossed his shirt onto the lounger and then reached into him and kissed him deeply. My arms lightly went around his shoulders. We were lost into each other for a few minutes, our eyes never leaving one another. We were both shaking slightly from the closeness we were experiencing.

While we were bonding in that moment the tears were openly leaking from my eyes and were falling down onto his arm that was wrapped around my midsection. My tears were only joining his, "How?" I asked very calmly and reassuringly.

"You won't understand. Really you won't."

"There is nothing you can do or say to make my feelings for you go away, except if you were to walk away."

"You really do not want to know. The situation is very, very complicated. Why are you doing this to me?"

"I'm not doing anything TO you, Peter. I am here FOR you. I will never do anything to intentionally hurt you, ever."

"Yeah, I think so too. I can't explain it. Somehow I feel safe though, with you, that is."

"Me too, Peter. Me too."

"Can we go up to your room? Please?"

"Sure."

"I'd just feel more comfortable. I'd just feel better if we did this privately."

"Let's go then."

After drying off, Peter got my crutches and together we went up to my room where I closed and locked the door.

Chuckling, I said "We're dripping wet..."

"Yeah, I'm sorry. Are you going to get in trouble?"

"It'll dry. But I don't want to get my bed wet, hmmm." A thought passed through my mind, I giggled and said "Are you ready?"

"Ready for what?"

"Quick change artist."

Without a moment to change our minds, I dropped to the floor and then shucked off my swimsuit leaving my appendage to flop against my belly. It wasn't quite hard but then again it wasn't soft. Peter looked at me like I'd lost my mind. I used my crutches to stand up, "Well, I feel naked with you dressed..."

"No way I'll do that."

"Yes way!"

"You're crazy you know!"

"Yeah. That's me."

He smiled nervously, "Don't laugh. David, I mean, well, I'm hurt down there too... those damn posts on the stairway racked me..."

I walked over to him and then reached for the strings holding the boardies up on his hips. I began unraveling them. He brushed my hand away and continued to untie them himself. When they were free he continued to hold them up loosely.

"It hurts bad David, really bad."

I walked to him and we kissed our lips deeply together. As we were kissing he let his hands go to his side and then he gently pulled the swimsuit down and let it drop to the floor and then kicked them aside to land on top of mine.

He looked down. I followed his lead and then gasped out loud after seeing his testicles swollen to more than 3 times their normal size and shape. They were black and blue. His penis lay there limply between those bulbous melons.

"Ah Peter. For the love of God what happened to you? This can't be so."

Similar bruises, cuts and abrasions were all over the front of his groins, upper thighs, knees and finally on down to his toes. After turning him around, I saw the same injuries on his back, buttocks and legs.

Overcome with the impact of Peter's injuries, I sat down and pulled him onto my lap. We cried for a few minutes and our lips met every once in a while just to be touching.

When I recovered from the shock, I simply looked him deeply in the eyes and asked "Why?"

Peter shook his head and sighed deeply but did not say anything.

Reaching around Peter with my arms, I pulled him closer then let my hand travel down his butt where I stopped in his crack and asked "Did anybody hurt you here?"

"I wouldn't ..."

"Who did this to you, Peter? I swear to God they will pay for this!"

"David. Don't go there, please."

With absolute resolve as tears fell from my eyes, I said "This is wrong on so many levels. I'll help you. My dad will help you. I won't let this happen to you ever again. I promise. I swear."

"David, please don't tell anyone, it will just make it worse, and I don't think I can survive a beating like that again. Please promise me."

"You're safe now. This is just wrong, wrong, wrong."

"You don't know what you are getting yourself into, David. Please listen to me."

"My dad will know what to do, I promise you."

With quiet resignation he asked, "Can I get dressed now? Oh wait, my clothes are in the bathroom ... uhm ... I'll be right back."

"I'll go with you. I don't want to leave you alone."

"But I'll be naked, and well..."

"I'm naked too. Dad is at work, so is Jeremy, they won't be home till late."

"Uhm, I'd rather not. You can though. I mean, well my nuts hurt. I think I need some support."

"Yeah, I see that. I've got some snug underwear you can wear. Would you be okay wearing them and a t-shirt?"

"Yeah, I guess, as long as it is just us."

I went the dresser and retrieve a pair of bright yellow briefs and helped him to put them on. He stood up and tested them. Other than being just a tad bit loose they fit him perfectly.

"Let me go to Jeremy's room to get a big t-shirt for you to wear so that your jeans don't hurt you. Be right back." I said and then gave Peter a kiss on his lips. He nodded his approval.

Going to Jeremy's room, I found two clean jersey t-shirts then took them back to my room and helped Peter into one. I put the other one on though I stayed commando.

Peter came to me, slowly put his arms around my waist letting his hands rest downward into the V on my back then he quickly pulled them back up and instead kissed me, "Sorry."

Too late, I was already boned up, my t-shirt was somewhat tented out ... somewhat because the t-shirt was way too big for me.

"Come on, let's go downstairs." I said after kissing him one more time. I could not keep my lips off of his though I tried. Okay, no, to be perfectly honest I wasn't really trying.

After arriving downstairs, I went to the kitchen and grabbed us a Coke apiece from the refrigerator, and then I made us sandwiches. Peter gobbled his down like there was no tomorrow. When I asked him if he wanted another one, he declined.

We went back outside and at down at the table next to the pool where we simply talked about nothing at all yet about so many things.

A little while later, dad called to check up on me, "Hey dad. Dad, when are you coming home?"

"I won't be home till late. I'm meeting with a new client today."

"Uh dad, Peter's here. He got hurt today. He needs our help."

"What's wrong? Where is his mother?"

"Dad..." I looked at Peter, he shook his head and looked down at the concrete and found a place to stare... "I think his mom did it to him. It's bad, dad."

Peter was still looking down at the concrete. I took his hand in mine. He looked up. I smiled and nodded.

"Let me talk to him for a minute."

"Hello sir. I'm sorry."

"Yes sir."

"Yes. Uhm, well, I'm sorry sir, it's kind of embarrassing."

"Yes sir, that's right. I... uhm, err ..."

"No sir."

"No sir, David is holding me hostage <giggle>."

<Laughs>

<wince>

"Okay, here he is."

"I'm on my way home. Call Jeremy, would you. Go ahead and get dinner started, would you please?"

"Sure thing dad. See you in a little bit. Love ya."

"Your dad seems nice. He told me he would do everything he could but that he would have to talk to my mom. That scares me."

I regarded him cautiously and then said "Dad's not too afraid of anybody. He doesn't get mad really. He's not a screamer and he doesn't beat us for anything we might do wrong. Come on, let's get dinner started, I'm hungry, are you?"

"Yeah, I'm starved but my stomach is sort of upset too. Anyway, what do you want me to do?"

"Well, I'm going to put pork chops in the oven after I marinade them. Uhm, you could wrap the baked potatoes in aluminum foil and then cut up the tomatoes for the salad. I'll get some green beans cooking."

"Uhm, I'm a klutz, remember?"

Skeptically, Peter picked up the knife and began deftly and expertly cutting up the tomatoes while I marinated, "Looks to me like you're handling that knife okay, like a pro."

"Yeah, well some days are better than others."

He looked at me, smiling wanly. He had small traces of gleam in his eyes. When he was intently cutting the last tomato, his tongue was sticking out and over his lip without any realization he was doing it.

Unable to stop myself, I put the marinade down, walked over to him and then kissed him on his bruised cheek. He sat the knife down on the cutting board in front of him, looked deeply into my eyes, smiled and a teardrop formed in the corner of his eyes and then put his hand on mine and squeezed it lightly.

His touch was electrifying. My dick jumped, and twitched violently. Thankfully, I was bellied up to the island. Nervously, I smiled and then reached over the counter and kissed his lips lightly. A gang of goose bumps overtook those little hairs on my arms making them stand up. The same thing happened to my legs.

"If it's okay I'm going to move this stuff over to where I can sit down."

"That's fine. As soon as I get the chops marinated and in the over, I'll join you."

"Hey, David?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks. Thanks for being my friend and for not making fun of me or laughing at me or anything. I really appreciate it. Truly."

Happily, we went on about preparing for dinner while talking about nothing in particular.

"HI DADDY!" I yelled as he walked in the door. Before he even had a chance to put his briefcase down, I intercepted him and grabbed him up in a hug and then proceeded to give him a big ole kiss right on the lips.

"Hey, what's this all about? You haven't kissed me since you were maybe 11 years old. This has gotta be good, let's hear about your day because I can't wait, I think." He giggled.

Turning to Peter, I realized he was no longer sitting at the bar. Out of the corner of my eye I saw that he was walking towards the front door, as if to leave.

"Peter! Don't go." I said. I reached for my crutches, walked over to him, took his hand in mine. He stopped and looked at me with fear running across his face. By this time, dad had joined us and he looked between me and Peter trying to figure out what was happening.

"David, I really need to leave for home. She will be home shortly, and well, I need to be home when she gets there."

"You can't go walking down the street in just a pair of underwear and a skimpy t-shirt. They will arrest you for decent exposure." I kind of half-way giggled.

"Oh. Right." Peter said looking down to the floor frowning.

"Hi Peter." Dad said warmly and then added "I'm sorry to see you go home so soon, and David is right, you might get arrested for decent exposure. Let's go sit down and talk so we can get to know each other better. You are safe here." Dad said caringly and soothingly.

"Dad, the chops and potatoes are in the oven. The salad is made thanks to Peter."

"Uhm, I really didn't do anything... okay, but I really need to be leaving very soon, she'll be home any minute."

"Peter would you please come to the dining room for a minute. I would like to talk to you before you leave. Can you just give us a few minutes?"

"Uhm, not to offend you and Peter, but I really have to get home, please sir."

"Okay, Peter, I understand, but please come to the dining room for just a moment, please?"

"I can't be late, sir. I just can't be late." Peter said shuddering.

"Okay. I won't take long then. We don't want you to get in trouble." Dad replied slowly as he leaned down to look at Peter's face and his eyes. Dad reached his hand to Peter. Peter took his and then, together, we walked into the dining room where the light was bright from the late afternoon sun. We sat there quietly for a few minutes and then dad asked, as he carefully looked at Peter's face and neck, "What happened to you?"

"Nothing really, sir. As I told Peter, I'm a klutz. I run into walls and fall up and down the stairs. I did it again last night. Sir, I really need to get going. Mom is going to be home soon, and well, I need to be there before she arrives."

Just then, the doorbell rang.
